Fishing Nutrition Review | O.N.E. Active Coconut Water

I know, I know…  I’ve beat the hydration thing to death, but I just had to get this out due to the level of interest I’ve seen and amount of questions I’ve received asking me about my preferences. FishStrong was the first in the industry to introduce the angling community to the idea of drinking coconut water to combat dehydration. So, it stands to reason we should be the first to introduce you to O.N.E. Active — the best sports drink on the market in my opinion.

What’s In It

There are many good coconut water products on the market, but O.N.E. Active is a little different. In addition to the various electrolytes found in its high quality coconut water, O.N.E. Active includes functional enhancers such as ginseng, ginkgo biloba, and antioxidants that make it suited for “active bodies and minds”.

What’s Not In It

Like any other nutritional product or food, what it does not contain is just as important as what it does.  You won’t find any glow in the dark artificial colorings, high fructose corn syrup,  preservatives, GMO (genetically modified) ingredients, or artificial sugars in this drink. I can’t say the same for most other sports drinks… including the “right Gatorade“.

Taste

O.N.E Active comes in three different flavors – LemonLime, CranGrapefruit, and GrapeBerry.  My favorite is lemon lime, but they are all great! They are all light, clean, and refreshing. They definitely quench my thirst!

Price

O.N.E. Active is available at Whole Foods. I often buy them on sale there for $1.50 per bottle. O.N.E. Active can also be purchased on Amazon.com for around $19-$25 for a pack of 12.

If you're apprehensive about drinking coconut water, THIS is the product for you. Incomparable taste.

Final Word

This stuff is definitely FishStrong approved! It’s a superior product that naturally rehydrates the body during those long summer days out on the water. I like that it comes with a screw on top, rather than the soda can style or sticker top that other companies use.  It’s like it was custom made for our on the water needs. I want to be able to take a chug or two, screw the cap back on, and toss it back into the boat’s cooler. On an extremely hot day, I’ll stock the boat with 2-3 of them along with regular water. I recommend that you drink about one of these for every 4 waters bottles.

Try some for your next outing. I think you’ll be really pleased. It will definitely fulfill your fishing hydration needs.

I too like the O.N.E. Active drinks. They’re definitely better cold but still not too bad room temperature. Are there any other local retailers that you know of that carry them for a reasonable price? I’ve seen them at Publix for $1.69 but no where else really. Most places they’re closer to $2.69! I can personally attest to their benefit of RE-hydration after especially long workouts and would probably buy them in bulk if I could find them…

I find them every now and then at Whole Foods for $1.50. You can buy them in bulk on Amazon. I have found at least two flavors being sold in 12 packs.
