This unique popping cork was created by a commercial fishermen who used them to make a living catching saltwater fish.

What he found was that using heavy mono for the cork allows them to last longer than most wire corks. And an added bonus is that they are much easier to store in a tackle tray since they don't have a stiff wire that takes up a lot of space.
