Black Ice is now available across the Moonwalker, Wake Mullet, Skinny Lipper and Flea Flicker. Same proven lure platforms. Same presentations. A brand-new black-and-silver look.
SHOP THE BLACK ICE LAUNCH
We have spent a lot of time testing lure color, and one result kept getting our attention: dark lure profiles deserve a much bigger place in an inshore tackle box than most anglers give them.
That testing is what makes this launch exciting. We did not create four completely new lures and ask anglers to learn four completely new presentations. Instead, we took four Fish Strong hard baits that already cover very different parts of the water column and brought them together in one new dark color treatment: Black Ice.
The result is one color across four different jobs: topwater, wakebait, shallow-running plug and suspending twitchbait.
The color. The Moonwalker, Wake Mullet, Skinny Lipper and Flea Flicker keep the lure action and purpose they were designed for. Black Ice gives each one a darker black-and-silver profile so you can test that look without giving up the presentation you already trust.
Why We Built Black Ice
For years, the basic lure-color advice was easy to remember: lighter colors in clear water and darker colors when visibility gets worse.
Our on-the-water testing made that rule look a lot less simple.
Dark profiles can create a stronger silhouette underwater, and our testing showed black lures can be worth throwing in more than just dirty water. We have seen dark colors perform in clear water, bright conditions and pressured situations too.
That does not mean black is always the best color. Location, depth, lure size and retrieve still come first. But once those pieces are right, a darker profile gives you another way to change what the fish see without completely changing the lure.
One Color. Four Different Presentations.
The easiest way to choose between the Black Ice plugs is not by asking which one is best. Start with where you want your lure to run and how you want it to move.
| Lure | Presentation | Use It When |
|---|---|---|
| Moonwalker | Walk-the-dog topwater | You want to work fish on the surface |
| Wake Mullet | Shallow-water wakebait | You are covering very shallow water |
| Skinny Lipper | Shallow-running hard plug | You need to stay high over grass and oyster areas |
| Flea Flicker | Suspending twitchbait | You want to twitch and pause below the surface |

The four lures look similar in the new Black Ice color, but they are not meant to do the same job. This breakdown shows how each lure moves, where it fits and why having different presentations matters more than trying to force one plug into every situation.
